Learning & Teaching

STEM Education

STEM is an acronym that refers to the academic disciplines of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics collectively. Apart from cultivating students’ interest in STEM, we aim to strengthen students’ ability to integrate and apply knowledge and skills across different STEM related subjects, and to nurture their creativity, collaboration and problem-solving skills, as well as to foster their innovation, critical thinking, analytical skills and entrepreneurial spirits as required in the 21st century.

To enhance the effectiveness of learning and teaching in STEM, the coherence and collaboration among relevant subjects including Science, D&T, CL and Mathematics have been strengthened. Team work is an essential prerequisite for successful STEM education. To broaden the students’ exposure in different learning opportunities and enhance self-directed learning, they are encouraged to participate in a wide range of STEM-related competitions or activities held by Universities and other organizations in the community. Students would therefore be better equipped for further studies and careers in meeting the changes and challenges in the contemporary world.
